Arsenal vs Aston Villa: Arteta receives double injury boost ahead of EPL clash

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is likely to have Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney available for selection when they take on Aston Villa on Friday.

Both players returned to full training on Thursday.

Saka emerged a doubt for the Premier League game after he was scythed down from behind by James McArthur during the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old was taken off during the half-time break.

Arteta, speaking at his pre-match press conference, said he would give Saka every chance to prove his fitness in the hours leading up to kick-off.

Tierney, who was absent from Wednesday’s training session due to minor bruising, also took part in drills at London Colney.

Midfielder Granit Xhaka, who suffered a knee injury in Arsenal’s north London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur, is not expected to make his return until the New Year.
